A community-wide vision.
A comprehensive plan.
Revitalizing our City. Rebuilding our Community.
Voice to Vision is a citizen-led initiative that is bringing community members together to create meaningful, lasting, systemic change and a vibrant, resilient, and sustainable future for Port Clinton. The goal is to create a community-wide vision and a comprehensive, long-range plan for Port Clinton.
To create a vision and plan that works for everyone, everyone must be represented. The process is designed to level the playing field. Voice to Vision is grassroots, nonpartisan, and inclusive—free and open to everyone. People from every corner of the community will participate, and everyone’s voice will be heard, valued, and incorporated into the vision and plan.
Voice to Vision is based on Appreciative Inquiry, a proven visioning and planning process that concentrates on identifying and nurturing the best of who and what we are as a community while bringing people together, strengthening connections, and building bridges. It is this focus on strengths and relationships that will unleash the creativity and collaboration we need to create the kind of future we all want.

The Port Clinton Community Summit
We've laid the foundation, now let's roll up our sleeves and build the future.
After months of collecting interviews, ideas and research, it's time for the highlight of Voice to Vision: The Port Clinton Community Summit.
In this multi-day event, the people of
Port Clinton will gather⏤with all their knowledge, experience and creativity— to forge a community-wide vision
and comprehensive long-range plan.
Why Voice to Vision?
The guiding principles of Voice to Vision are what makes this approach to community visioning and planning different and highly effective.
Include everyone. Commit to collaborative, community-wide effort. Inclusiveness is the foundation of this approach. Every voice is sought out, heard, valued, and incorporated into the vision and plan for the future of our community. Every event is free and open to everyone.
Include everything. Be comprehensive; examine every aspect of the community⏤schools,
institutions, businesses, organizations, neighborhoods, practices, resources, infrastructure, geography, etc.⏤and create a vision that integrates all of these into a coordinated plan.
Practice uncompromising transparency and accountability. All meetings, events, and decisions are completely transparent. All information is accessible to everyone.
Focus on the positive. Rather than identifying problems and attempting to solve them (which can lead to limited progress, strained relationships, and burn-out), Voice to Vision identifies the best of who and what we are as a community and builds a future on that.
Understand the needs before taking action. First, examine the needs of the community, then identify strategies that best meet those needs. Positions, solutions, and preconceived ideas about outcomes are set aside until a thorough exploration of the community’s needs is complete.
Begin at the beginning. Discover and understand what we are trying to create before exploring how to create it.
Build relationships. Trying to revitalize the city without rebuilding community relationships is futile. Voice to Vision focuses on revitalizing the city and rebuilding the community at the same time.
